Financial proof in English: Bank statements, tax documents, property or business ownership, or assets or transaction records from the last 3 months. Each deposit must not be less than HKD 30,000.

Employees: Proof of employment, pay slips, employer’s guarantee letter or leave letter (must state position, start date, salary, and approved leave period)

Employers: Copy of business registration certificate or shareholder certificate, and income proof

Students: Academic transcripts, diploma or school enrollment letter, financial proof from a parent or guardian, and a birth certificate for minors

Homemakers: Financial and income proof of the applicant and spouse

Family Visit Applicants: Copy of relative’s U.S. immigration status document (e.g., Green Card, naturalization certificate, or valid U.S. visa)

Medical Visa Applicants: Diagnosis letter from a local physician stating the illness and reason for treatment in the U.S.; Invitation letter from the U.S. medical institution or doctor, including treatment plan, estimated duration, and costs; Financial sponsor letter with proof of ability to cover medical, travel, and living expenses (e.g., bank statements, tax returns)

Current proof of income, tax payments, property or business ownership, or assets.

Your travel itinerary and other explanation about your planned trip.

A letter from your employer detailing your position, salary, how long you have been employed, any authorized vacation, and the business purpose, if any, of your U.S. trip.

Criminal/court records pertaining to any arrest or conviction anywhere, even if you completed your sentence or were later pardoned.

Parents applying for a visa for a child should bring with them the child’s birth certificate to prove the parent-child relationship.

Important Notes

Visa approval is subject to final review by the U.S. Consulate. All fees paid are non-refundable, regardless of the outcome.

False documents or misrepresentation can result in permanent visa ineligibility.

Do not purchase flight tickets or make hotel reservations before receiving the visa to avoid unnecessary losses.

All submitted documents must be handed over to the consulate and cannot be retrieved during the process.

Your passport must have at least two blank pages for visa sticker and entry stamps and must be signed on the last page.

All documents must be clear paper photocopies. Mobile photos or digital printouts will not be accepted.

All supporting documents must be in English or accompanied by an official translation.

Signatures on all forms must match the signature on your passport.

For security reasons, sealed envelopes are not permitted into the Consulate General.
