Overview
This study tour was designed to deepen students’ understanding of ecological conservation, wetland management, and sustainable tourism through field research, scientific exploration, and cultural immersion. It aims to cultivate global awareness and environmental responsibility among participants.
Prior to departure, the Hong Kong branch of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) delivered a pre-trip lecture, sharing practical insights on conservation and sustainable development to provide students with a strong theoretical foundation and academic framework

The itinerary integrates ecological research, academic discussion, and cultural experience, ensuring students can connect classroom knowledge with real-world practice. Throughout scientific explorations, students have develop observation skills, critical thinking, and cross-cultural understanding.
Program Highlights
Zoo Conservation
Students explored the Mandai Wildlife Reserve's four zoos, observing animal behavior and adaptive ecological traits up close. The visit emphasizes the zoo’s role in species conservation and public education, highlighting its core values and mission.
Wetlands & Ecosystem Research
Visits to Gardens by the Bay and Sungei Buloh focus on wetland conservation, blue carbon, and the link between urban wetland management, carbon auditing, and ecological preservation.
Biodiversity & Canopy Studies
At Pulau Ubin and the MacRitchie, students studied canopy-dwelling species, learning about biodiversity and explored the relationship between local species, sustainable tourism, and economic, conservation, and educational outcomes.
Multicultural Experience
Visit Chinatown, Little India, and the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum for an immersive experience of Singapore’s cultural diversity, urban ecology, and innovative sustainability practices.
